When developing Benzár Mix products, our main goal is to build on the decades of knowledge and experience behind the brand to occasionally introduce truly groundbreaking innovations. This year, that ambition has come to life in the form of the Pro Corn Wafters – a unique hook bait that rightfully earns the title of a world-first.
The inspiration behind this bait was none other than corn – one of the oldest and most reliable hook baits still widely used today across virtually every fishing spot in the country. While corn has countless applications, both as feed and as bait, we saw further potential in expanding its use – and thus, the Pro Corn Wafters were born.
What makes these wafters truly special is how closely they resemble real feed corn in appearance. This familiar shape is easily recognized by fish as a natural food source. Furthermore, the baits contain multiple corn derivatives, giving them a pleasant, natural corn scent and flavor even without added aromas.
Pro Corn Wafters are designed specifically for carp fishing – especially when targeting larger specimens. One of their most important features, besides their realistic shape, is their buoyancy. It has been finely tuned to ensure they don’t lift the hook off the bottom, but only make it lighter for a more natural presentation. For perfect performance, we recommend using them with size 8 Benzár Method Round Feeder hooks or larger, as even with a standard 10 mm bait spike, they will not lift the rig.
